Vanessa obtained her B.Sc. degree in Molecular Biomedicine from the University of Bonn. In her Bachelor Thesis, she applied Bayesian statistics to account for measurement time point uncertainties in biological systems. Subsequently, she joined the Hasenauer Lab as a fast track PhD-student in April 2022. Her main research interests lie in applications of mechanistic modeling to help understand the spreading of infectious diseases.
