Jakob Vanhoefer studied mathematics at TU Munich and RWTH Aachen. During his Master studies he had student assistant positions at the Forschungszentrum Jülich and the Helmholtz Zentrum Munich and was thereby introduced into the field of computational biology. In June 2019 he started his PhD at the University of Bonn. Method-wise his research focuses on parameter fitting for large-scale ODE-models. Biology-wise he applies these methods and collaborates with partners from a variety of fields, from cancer to T-cells.
